Festive Season – Art of Elegance Fair Update

Just a quick Fair update, trusting everyone had a lovely festive time and wishing you all the best the new year has to offer.   Look out for the Weekly Times article covering the Fair and concepts, initiated and written by Genevieve Barlow, advance notice of this was given late last year, so keep an eye on the paper.

Interest has been shown also by the Powerhouse Museum, as their Australian Dress Register is launching  national coverage this year.  Please view the honourable presentation and careful documenting of these garments on the Register and do comment, and also participate, by contacting them about your special heirloom or historical garment, so that it can be evaluated and included on the Register by the museum.   The curators have asked us to spread the word, and information on this will also be available at the Fair.  We wish them every success with this worthy task to capture history, which would be otherwise lost.

Central Goldfields Shire has come out in support of the Fair with a gesture of support for it, via Regional Arts Victoria and Central Goldfields Art Gallery, contributing to the printing costs of the promotional material.  We thank them most heartily for this assistance for the local shire traders!

One of the things we are careful about with the promotions is to take into account sustainable and recycled materials wherever possible, namely the flyers which are circulating now, and have been for a couple of weeks, designed by Fair sponsor Tiffany Titshall of Fanny’s Flat vintage boutique in Talbot.  We have put a great deal of our own time and effort into making the Fair a fabulous experience for all who take part in it, and the traders are all keen to make it happen.   Look for Tiffany’s “Three Coins in the Fountain” film inspired stall in the central location of the main hall, where she uses the fountain motif as her inspiration for vintage fashion and accessories.

More updates on what other traders are planning will follow, as will news on the Antique Flower Vase Display.

Wishing you a collectible and fabulous vintage inspired new year!

From Monika, Tiffany and the Art of Elegance Fair.
