1940’s Art – Annie Irish – Talbot, Victoria

Posted on January 31, 2012

Annie Irish specializes in 1940’s art, and originates from the UK, but is now settled in Scandinavian Crescent, Talbot. She has a keen interest in historical photos and local history.  She has exhibited overseas and has been involved in many local exhibitions.  Skilled as an illustrator, her works continue to carry the influence of this style, which has long been focused on themes of strong women and women of achievement.  Annie’s particular interest in 20th century costume, fashion, and uniform as inspiration, is shown in an Amelia Earhart series for this Fair.  Pictured here are earlier works, and she spent some time working with landscape, before returning to the themes in these images, and expanding on them with the latest series.  Be sure to see Annie’s beautiful art in the Front Hall at the Art of Elegance Fair…
