Antique Flower Vase Display – Summer Winners

Posted on February 28, 2012

Some very happy winners after Maryborough and District Garden Club Judges R & R Fitzmaurice announced the results of the first Art of Elegance Fair floral display.   Leading up to the Fair, an earlier posting referred to the generous sponsors, Bent Stems Floral Boutique, and also that this section of the Fair was off to a very brave start.  This was because the combination of the dry weather and very hot winds blew out all the roses, and generally left very little in the garden to show!   But that didn’t deter the entrants, first place rosette went to J. Maruca, of Maryborough, second to S. Morris of Maryborough, third to R. Vater from Dunolly, and fourth place special commendation went to E. Wytkamp from Maryborough.   Prize winning vases are displayed above, an innovative dried and sprayed arrangement set on a dressed table featuring strongly from S. Morris.  J. Maruca’s rose covered vase is an heirloom from her mother in law, a valuable memory piece by sentiment.  First prize was a $50 fresh flowers voucher, second a $30 voucher, and third a $25 voucher, kindly supplied by Bent Stems Floral Boutique.  They can be contacted on (03) 5460 5568 for flower arrangements for all occasions, and their boutique always smells divine.   Fourth commendation received innovative and stylish tea samples from Tea Blossoms.   Contact Regina, on (03) 9528 3098 for advice on what tea to try, and where to get these wonderful products.  A very well deserved congratulations to all involved, and a big thank you to the Judges for making the day special.
