The Reclaimed Room – Lauren Randle – Castlemaine, Victoria

Posted on April 19, 2012

Lauren Randle lives the vintage life.  Her new store in Halford Street, Castlemaine is “The Reclaimed Room“, and she puts it best when she says, “…it’s about remembering things from Nana’s house, and about reliving the parts of the past that we love.”  She makes beautiful vintage and reclaimed fabric toys for children, in designs that were just as cuddly years ago.  She also makes wonderful designs in 1950’s skirts and dresses, with the same fabric approach, to re-use and reclaim.   Her theme for the Art of Elegance Fair at Maryborough Town Hall will be “1950’s Tea Party” which we can’t wait to see!  It’s her favourite historic period, and she loves using the different elements, such as vintage fabric squares and lacy doileys to add an authentic look to the clothing.  She will bring an assortment of these to the Fair.  Her stylish 1950’s wedding outfit will be her choice to wear on the day, and probably a hat to match her theme.  Find Lauren in the “Precious Little Arcade”, centre room, (just “down the rabbithole a bit”) and turn left behind the stage.  She might also have some Alice in Wonderland themed cards, Mothers’ Day gifts, as well as many makes and handmades, vintage tea towels, and a couple of pieces of her husband’s small wooden furniture made out of reclaimed wood.  Don’t miss Lauren’s trading space at the Art of Elegance Fair on Mothers’ Day, May 13…contact and details for her store are listed below.
