Autumn Art of Elegance Fair Traders, Visitors and Winners

Posted on May 28, 2012

It was a real treat to have Miss Lulu and Miss Ruby as part of the Fair, doing hair and looking very glamorous.   Once a couple of ladies took the plunge and had a hair makeover, suddenly many more wanted to do it, and the result was a lot of elegantly coiffed patrons moving about the Fair and the town in retro style.  We loved having them up here!

Congratulations to J. Maruca, first prize in the Antique Flower Vase Display with her lovely Autumn Rose Hip themed High Tea arrangement, E. Wytkamp second place with a lovely vase and mixed arrangement , and J. O’Flaherty third place with the most lovely Autumn toned arrangement.   Places were judged by Maryborough and District Garden Club officials, Ross and Rosalie Fitzmaurice, and we thank them for being there.  First prize received a bottle of Romantic Vineyard Pinot Noir, and second and third received beautiful collector tins of Sweet Decadence chocolates in the shapes of Autumn leaves.  The flowers added a nice touch to the old fashioned raw scrubbed stage floor, Tiffany Titshall’s upcycled decorative bunting, and Dragon Cycles vintage bike display.

It was lovely to see all the vintage ladies dressed up, looking smart as ever, among them Maggie who enjoyed herself very much, fabulous to see Carli (konadlicious) and her lovely family, who enjoyed the day also, stopping for a chat about vintage to fellow enthusiasts at Tiffany and Cal’s themed space.

A very fine store set up by Cherie and Jo at Ruffles Fabrics and Curtains and Grand Duke Honey and Beeswax Candles, respectively, modelled on an old world French Drapery, attracted a lot of patrons.

More to come…
