A Country Show – Art of Elegance Fair – Maryborough, Victoria

Posted on August 29, 2012

The Winter Art of Elegance Fair proved to be a real country inspired show, at a smaller venue because of winter.  This hall is full of a long list of memories for many, and has a lovely naturally retro feel.  During Saturday set up time pics were taken to capture the spare seasonal mood, and yet the day of the Fair turned out to be bright and sunny.  But true to the Goldfields it was still cold, but not for those inside!  Renee and Dave from Romantic Vineyard served up wonderful winter fare, as mentioned in this article by one of our visitors, Glamourista and the Driver, all the way from Melbourne.   We loved having them here, as well as the multi talented Nicole Jenkins from Circa Vintage, Melbourne, with her husband Tim.   Returning Fair favourites, too, are Konadlicious with her family, and the wonderful Miss Lulu and Miss Ruby, looking fabulous in their vintage wear and hairdos.  Those who made a beeline for Lizzie’s Larder High Tea Cake Buffet were not disappointed, and wanted to take her with them to cater other events, loved her style all the way to through cyberspace to Canada!  They were content to take the cakes home instead, and will be back for more.  All the traders enjoyed the day and patrons picked up many special items they will treasure!

A big thank you to all who took part in the Fair and assisted in any way.  Thanks also to the local patrons who come to and support the Fair, shire Tourism Staff, Gallery Staff and Info Centre, online promoters and vintage blogging community.

Sepia and monotone images were taken by Tiffany Titshall of Fanny’s Flat Vintage, Talbot and show the nice display effect of the trader spaces, retro kitchen servery, and original hall interior with the upcycled decorations she creates.   The Fair flyers are always printed in minimal print runs on recycled stock, and people are starting to collect the series.  The Spring Fair will be the final one in this seasonal series, in its current form, and we hope to meet up with old friends and new on Sunday November the 11th, once again at the Maryborough Anglican Hall location.  Slight change of times, start at 12 pm through until 5 pm due to the importance of Remembrance Day, and later trading time made possible due to the warmer weather.  Stay tuned for more updates on the themes and styles of Art of Elegance Fair Spring, where your favourite traders will return, and new ones join us too.
