Local Vintage – Art of Elegance Fair – Maryborough, Victoria

Posted on October 30, 2012

Amaroo Antiques, Art & Collectibles will be open from midday for Art of Elegance Fair Spring, ideal for patrons who want to wander the town and see some sights.   They stock a fabulous range of collectibles, amber glass, English/European/Oriental  porcelain, Australian ephemera and art.   Above can be seen an exquisite 1950’s Japanese Kutani Hayasi tea set, with the beautiful Hidden Geisha motif at the centre of each tea cup.  This set is complete and the hand painted exterior pattern is shown in more detail on the plate beside it.   Amaroo will also have a space over at the Fair with small vintage decor items, which is definitely worth a browse.   The Fair ticket is an all day pass, so it’s easy to take a look at other vintage and make a day of it.

Sew What at the Maryborough Flour Mill Gallery has a lot to see, — a great range of antique and decorative items of all eras, and a fabulous sewing museum.   There is also a beautiful collection of garments from the 20’s to the 60’s on view, and many other reminders of these eras on display.  Definitely worth a visit on the day of the Fair, open Sundays from 10 – 5 pm.   Wayne and Judi have taken part in previous fairs, and always make visitors welcome.
