This Weekend – The Red Store, Gardens & More – Central Victoria

Posted on November 8, 2012

This weekend there is lots on for those driving up to Maryborough for the Fair, with the Castlemaine Festival of Gardens on too.  We’ve been alerted to the Newstead and Castlemaine garden fun happening by Elizabeth Bell of  brilliant antique home decor fame in Newstead’s main street, The Red Store.  This place is a destination for those who are serious about vintage, retro, antique and even some industrial decorating styles.  Their website has hand-picked items for inside and out, and the advice available on what fits where is invaluable and one-on-one.   So from Castlemaine’s magnificent gardens it’s a continuation of Pyrenees Highway, via Newstead, to Maryborough.  Newstead is part of the Festival and near The Red Store is the Newstead Community Garden (details above – image enlarge by clicking), which is open, also Roger Mc Kindley’s Antares Iron Art Garden in the same town.  Both are well worth a visit.  The weekend is shaping up to be a lot of fun in all directions!  Enjoy it all…
