Summer – Dunolly Town Hall

First Art of Elegance began as a boutique vintage fair held in historic Victorian Dunolly Town Hall, the location for the inaugural event on February 12th 2012.  It will be held in other Goldfields area halls, on a seasonal basis.   The theme is elegance, and a return to grace.   The Fair comprises of many local and regional traders and foodies, who promote and believe in the value of fine things and enjoy quality.   Traditional Country High Tea was offered in the front hall area, where gifts, edible treats, and other related items could be purchased, leading onto the Main Hall where traders offered their antique wares on white linen topped tables for sale and collecting, art was viewed and purchased, music from past eras was heard, Antique Floral Vase Display was a success with three prizes sponsored by Bent Stems Floral Boutique, of Maryborough, awarded by Maryborough and District Garden Club Judges.  Vintage fashions from bygone eras were purchased and collected, and the art of collecting was the topic of the day, as many traders shared their knowledge and offered to appraise items.  Check for further updates on which traders will be offering this service in future.  To follow posts on the Fair and details on the next one, subscribe to email or RSS feed for catch ups right in your inbox, just fill out the email section in the sidebar or click on the RSS feed button.

The Fair brought 2,000 plus visitors to the small town of Dunolly, where 400 of them enjoyed the Fair in two Halls, Dunolly Town Hall and St John’s Anglican Hall.  A good day was had, fine weather, lots of things to see and do, and a lot of elegance to see.  We quickly realized we would outgrow the current location, and have adapted to move with the results.  Check the page for the next Fair, held at historic Maryborough Town Hall, Neill Street, Maryborough, Victoria, 3465, which will be bigger, but not too big, more High Tea sessions and seatings, new concepts and fine vintage fare…
